This series profiles the dynamic scientists unveiling new and exciting innovations throughout northern New England.  The Emmy-winning six part series highlights intriguing and entertaining stories about environmental and scientific issues, their solutions and their impact on daily life.  Topics ranging from survival in extreme elements to the concerns surrounding the Avian flu help viewers better understand the natural world around them.

Grannies on Safari

60-something best friends Pat Johnson and Regina Fraser embark on expeditions to South Africa, Morocco, Japan, South Korea and Turkey in search of each destination's bizarre, exotic and sublime attractions.  Throughout the series, the energetic and engaging duo follows winding road, rides canoes, camels and elephants, and visits urban city centers and rural hamlets.  There are surprises at every turn as the women determinedly track down local characters and cultural treasures.

On a Wing and a Prayer: An American Muslin Learns to Fly

Follow one Muslim-American man on his quest to obtain a pilot's license.  But will the "Land of opportunity" deny Monem his dream in the aftermath of 9/11 and in the face of heightened domestic security?  The cinema verite-style documentary reveals a funny, loveable, altogether human Muslim-American as he pursues the American dream against tides of negative public perception.

The Los Angeles Public Library is partnering with The Princeton Review to present a system-wide library program for teens, "Student Smart Tools of Becoming a Better Student." Student Smart is an initiative offer citywide seminars and New SAT, PSAT, and ACT Practice Test sessions, conducted by The Princeton Review Instructors in LAPL Branches/Central Library, enabling middle school students to develop effective study and test taking strategies for college.
