The 2013 VIC Awards Ceremony will air Sunday, August 25th at 3:30 p.m. and have its primetime premier on Tuesday, August 27th at 7 PM. This year's Awards Show will be somewhat of a departure from past ceremonies and will feature an opportunity to hear from many of our VIC Award-winning teachers as they share their insight and experiences about the process of producing classroom videos. Some of our teachers have been producing VIC Award-winning videos for over a decade and have gained tremendous insight about they many benefits of incorporating classroom production into their curriculum.
This year's winning productions feature a full range of topics and cinematic styles: from a satirical approach to learning about Mount Rushmore, to more serious topics like homeless youth and dropout awareness. We see films that incorporate German Expressionist filmmaking techniques, others feature animation and we even have a throwback to the silent film era.
The films featured in this year's Awards Ceremony Show are but a handful of the many wonderful films we awarded this year. Check back for information about this year's "VIC Awards Showcase" where we will feature many more of our VIC Award winning films in their entirety.

The Video in the Classroom (VIC) Awards Program was created by KLCS in 1988 to recognize and stimulate interest in the use of video production technology as a teaching tool. Teachers and students are encouraged to use video production technology as a natural out growth of the curriculum with the goal of addressing the California State Content Standards. The 2012 VIC Awards Ceremony was held in June and is broadcast on KLCS throughout the year.
